Meditation Changes Lives
Mindfulness is the trendy word of the day, but being in the moment, aware of your breathing and your body is by definition, meditation. The first thing we do when we come into this world is take a breath. The last thing we do when we leave this world is take a breath. Every second of every day we take a breath. Breathing is the very essence of life, and yet, by ignoring it we are not conscious of our being. It is so automatic that we forget we are breathing.
My meditations are guided to make you keenly aware of your breathing, and how your body functions naturally. Because of stress most people do not breathe properly. People often breathe shallow. If someone is dealing with pain they may only fill their lungs to 10% of capacity. Shallow breathing can cause all sorts of disease because the body needs oxygen. Our body was designed to heal itself, but without oxygen it cannot properly function, so certainly, it cannot heal itself. Imaging tests show different parts of the brain function more efficiently after meditation. With regular practice, over time, it can have a permanent effect on the brain’s operating system. Its power is retarded without a sufficient supply of oxygen, and when we give it what it needs, it powers up and responds positively.
We live in a world filled with stress. The entire body responds negatively to stress, but the benefits of meditation is like hitting the reset button for the mind, body and spirit. It starts by rejuvenating all the cells with healing oxygen. It reconnects mind, body and spirit together as one. We literally reconnect with our spiritual being who is trapped in the human body, with souls to help us navigate through life. Being conscious of our totality has proven to create a multitude of positive effects; which includes healing from within.
Doctors know that consistent meditation will reduce stress, and even accidents. It can also reduce pain. When you learn to control your breathing, you learn to control your body, mind, and spirit, and as a result good health follows. The benefits of meditation are amazing. You begin to make better decisions. You’re able to sleep better, and you’ll have an overall sense of well-being; just by becoming aware of your breathing, and learning to control it.
